Larsen & Toubro (L&T), an engineering and construction conglomerate, today announced that L&T Construction has secured new orders worth Rs 18.32 billion from across various businesses in July and August 2014.

The building & factories business has bagged orders worth Rs 10.08 billion. A turnkey order was received from a private developer for residential towers at Kolkata. Another order is for the construction of a 246 m high, 60 floor residential tower for a major residential developer in Mumbai.

In the power transmission and distribution business the company has bagged orders worth Rs 6.24 billion from the international market.

Additional orders worth Rs 2 billion have also been received from various ongoing jobs in the heavy civil infrastructure business.

Shares of the company gained Rs 12.45, or 0.82%, to trade at Rs 1,530. The total volume of shares traded was 36,650 at the BSE (9.52 a.m., Thursday).
