Aries Agro announced that the company has commissioned its first captive solar power generation unit with a capacity of 100 KW at its second largest manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, at a project cost of Rs. 8.05 million. This solar power generation will streamline the availability of power for manufacturing operations.

The project was considered essential to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels and erratic grid power supply in the State of Telangana and is expected to also result in an appreciable savings in power and fuel expenses.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.15, or 2.64%, to settle at Rs 83.50. The total volume of shares traded was 18,705 at the BSE (Wednesday).
