Petronet LNG said that Kumar Misra has been appointed as independent director with effect from Aug. 14, 2014 on the board of the company.

The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Aug. 19, 2014, falling 13.73% compared with the Sensex's 3.04% rise. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 12.73% as against 8.45% rise in the Sensex.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.75, or 0.99%, to trade at Rs 174.45. The total volume of shares traded was 70,705 at the BSE (1.32 p.m., Wednesday).
