Zydus Cadila has received the final approval from the USFDA to market Acyclovir tablets in the strengths of 400 mg and 800 mg. The drug falls under the anti-viral segment.

The estimated sale in 2014 for Acyclovir tablets is USD 55.8 million, as per IMS. The group now has 95 approvals and has so far 249 ANDAs since the commencement of the filing process in FY 2003-04.

Shares of the company gained Rs 29, or 2.43%, to trade at Rs 1,221. The total volume of shares traded was 5,987 at the BSE (12.10 p.m., Wednesday).
