Indian equities continues to trade lower on Wednesday led by losses in realty and FMCG stocks whereas healthcare stocks registered a gain.
At 11.29 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 61.83 points or 0.23% at 26,358.84 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 18.60 points or 0.24% at 7,878.90 with 32 components falling.
Major losers were ONGC (1.91%), SBI (1.03%), ITC (1.03%) and Hindustan Unilever (0.99%).
Top gainers were Sun Pharma (2.67%), Cipla (1.49%), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (1.43%) and Tata Steel (1.33%).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.09% and 0.72% respectively.
The Realty index was at 1,849.83, down by 13.73 points or by 0.74%. The FMCG index was at 7,192.24, down by 50.56 points or by 0.7%.
On the other hand, the HC index was at 12,981.35, up by 215.87 points or by 1.69%.
