Reliance Communications (RCom), one of the leading telecom operators in India, reported a rise of 22.22% in consolidated profit to Rs 1.32 billion for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014 as against Rs 1.08 billion in the last year period.
Analysts, on average, expected Reliance Communications to report a profit of Rs 470 million, on revenue of Rs 55.72 billion.
Total income for the quarter increased marginally 0.73% to Rs 53.54 billion from Rs 53.15 billion in the same period last year.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.9, or 0.75%, to settle at Rs 120.70. The total volume of shares traded was 888,818 at the BSE (Thursday).
