City Union Bank, the private sector lender, on Wednesday reported a rise of 10.2% in its net profit for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014. The bank earned a profit of Rs 994.9 million for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014.
The bank's quarterly income totalled at Rs 7.54 billion, an increase of 7.28% over Rs 7.03 billion in the same period a year ago.
The bank has made provision of Rs 426.9 million, which was higher by 2.08 times from prior year period.
Net NPA was at Rs 2044 million for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014, as compared to Rs 969.8 million in the same period last year, representing an increase of 2.10 times.
In percentage term, net NPAs were at 1.28% at the end of the quarter, Jun. 30, 2014, higher by 0.63% from last year period.
Capital adequacy ratio (CAR) under Basel III of the bank was at 14.51% as on Jun. 30, 2014.
