Indian equities remained on negative note in noon trade on Friday. Realty stocks witnessed a rise whereas capital goods and IT stocks witnessed a fall.
At 12.27 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 70.90 points or 0.27% at 25,824.07 with 21 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 22.60 points or 0.29% at 7,698.70 with 28 components falling.
Major losers were NTPC (2.07%), Sun Pharma (1.93%), Gail India (1.83%) and Tata Power (1.53%).
Top gainers were Maruti Suzuki (3.59%), Bharti Airtel (3.25%), HUL (1.97%), and Tata Steel (1.81%).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.32% and 0.29% respectively.
The Realty index was at 1,910.82, up by 17.79 points or by 0.94%.
The Capital Goods index was at 14,541.93, down by 109.7 points or by 0.75%. The IT index was at 9,677.81, down by 64.53 points or by 0.66%.
