Indian equities are trading on negative note on Friday. Capital goods, oil & gas and power stocks witnessed a fall.
At 10.50 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 139.02 points or 0.54% at 25,755.95 with 21 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 53.80 points or 0.70% at 7,667.50 with 34 components falling.
Major losers were HDFC (5.41%), NTPC (2.31%), M&M (2.07%) and Dr Reddy's Laboratories (1.73%).
Top gainers were Maruti Suzuki (3.29%), Bharti Airtel (2.93%), HUL (2%), and Tata Steel (1.17%).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts declining-0.17% and -0.08% respectively.
The Capital Goods index was at 14,492.32, down by 159.31 points or by 1.09%. The Oil & Gas index was at 10,651.77, down by 98.06 points or by 0.91%. The Power index was at 2,115.30, down by 18.25 points or by 0.86%.
