Indian equities still trading lower on Thursday led by losses in consumer durables, capital goods and IT stocks.
At 1.34 p.m., the Sensex was trading down 81.12 points or 0.31% at 26,006.30 with 22 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 12.60 points or 0.16% at 7,778.80 with 39 components falling.
Major losers were Hindalco (1.69%), M&M (1.20%), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (1.07%) and Axis Bank (1%).
Top gainers were Cipla (2.55%), Tata Steel (1.95%), RIL (0.90%), and Coal India (0.72%).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.47% and 0.37% respectively.
The Consumer Durables index was at 8,559.73, down by 81.85 points or by 0.95%. The Capital Goods index was at 14,689.89, down by 85.68 points or by 0.58%. The IT index was at 9,754.21, down by 47.32 points or by 0.48%.
