Indian equities are trading on a flat note ahead of F&O expiry today. At 9.18 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 21.29 points or 0.08% at 26,066.13 with 15 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 12 points or 0.15% at 7,779.40 with 26 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 18.47 points or 0.07% at 26,105.89.
Major losers were TCS (0.68%), Infosys (0.56%), Tata Motors (0.54%), and Wipro (0.51%).
Top gainers were SSTL (1.46%), Maruti Suzuki (0.73%), L&T (0.70%), and Tata Steel (0.65%).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.3% and 0.21% respectively.
The Metal index was at 13,097.96, up by 39.79 points or by 0.30%. The Consumer Durables index was at 8,665.56, up by 23.98 points or by 0.28%.
On the other hand, the IT index was at 9,789.46, down by 12.07 points or by 0.12%.
