Container Corporation Of India said a small rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 6.25% to Rs 2,618.80 million from Rs 2,464.70 million in the same quarter previous year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 6.29% to Rs 12,696.70 million, compared with Rs 11,945 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 13.43, registering 6.25% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 42.5, or 3.36%, to settle at Rs 1,307.80. The total volume of shares traded was 8,427 at the BSE (Wednesday).
