Bharti Airtel shares jumped on Wednesday after the company reported a rise in first quarter profit of 60.91% to Rs 11.09 billion for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014 as compared to net profit Rs 6.89 billion in the same period last year.
Consolidated net sales was at Rs 229.62 billion for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014 as compared to Rs 202.64 billion in the same period last year, representing an increase of 13.31%.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 365.80, up Rs 11.45, or 3.23% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday at 9:26 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 368.20 and low of Rs 358.50. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 85,758.
