Texas Capital Bancshares (TCBIW), the bank holding company for Texas Capital Bank, has reported a 38.83 percent jump in profit for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014.

The company earned $33.42 million or $0.71 a share in the second quarter compared with $24.07 million or $0.52 a share, a year ago. Analysts on average had predicted net income of $0.69 a share.

Revenue during the second-quarter grew 12.10 percent to $125.94 million from $112.35 million in the last year period.

Net interest income for the quarter rose 14.02 percent over the prior year period to $115.41 million.

Non-interest income for the quarter fell 5.35 percent over the last year period to $10.53 million.

Texas Capital Bancshares has made provision of $4 million for loan losses during the quarter, which was lower by 42.86 percent from $7 million in the same period last year.

Total assets stood at $13532.83 million as on Jun. 30, 2014, up 23.27 percent compared with $10978.29 million on Jun. 30, 2013.

While total liabilities stood at $12270.01 million as on Jun. 30, 2014, up 23.40 percent from $9943.33 million on Jun. 30, 2013.

Equity capital of Texas Capital Bancshares increased 22.02 percent to $1262.82 million as on Jun. 30, 2014 compared with $1034.96 million on Jun. 30, 2013.

Shares of Texas Capital Bancshares gained $0.45 or 0.86 percent to settle at $52.80 on Wednesday.
