Indian equities continues to trade in the positive zone on Wednesday led by gains in IT, technology and capital goods stocks whereas healthcare stocks registered a fall.
At 10.26 a.m., the Sensex was trading up 90.77 points or 0.35% at 26,116.57 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 24 points or 0.31% at 7,791.85 with 20 components gaining.
Top gainers were Infosys (2.38%), Hindalco (2.07%), TCS (1.50%) and ICICI Bank (1.39%).
Top losers were Tata Power (1.20%), NTPC (1.13%), Sun Pharma (0.82%) and Bharti Airtel (0.75%).
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.30% and 0.10% respectively.
The IT index was at 9,684.02, up by 142.65 points or by 1.50%. The TECk index was at 5,442.71, up by 55.09 points or by 1.02%. The Capital Goods index was at 15,847.62, up by 120.21 points or by 0.76%.
On the other hand, the HC index was at 11,921.99, down by 39.81 points or by 0.33%.
