Asian stock markets closed higher on Tuesday. Japan's benchmark index, Nikkei 225 gained 37.36 points or 0.87 percent to settle at 4,342.10. China's benchmark index, Shanghai Composite rose 127.57 points or 0.84 percent to close at 15,343.28.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 21.00 points or 1.02 percent to end at 2,075.48. Singapore's Straits Times went up 394.97 points or 1.69 percent to end at 23,782.11.

South Korea's KOSPI rose 2.64 points or 0.08 percent to end at 3,316.91. Taiwan's TAIEX went up 10.43 points or 0.52 percent to end at 2,028.93.
