Exide Industries shares gained on Tuesday after the company disclosed a steady growth in standalone net profit for the quarter ended June 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 16.69% to Rs 1,853 million from Rs 1,588 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 17.51% to Rs 19,123.60 million, compared with Rs 16,275 million for the prior year period.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 166.50, up Rs 8.6, or 5.45% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday at 10:10 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 168.55 and low of Rs 163.65. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 505,192.
