Idea Cellular shares jumped on Tuesday after the company reported a rise of 57.24% in consolidated net profit for the first-quarter of fiscal 2014. It earned a profit of Rs 7.28 billion for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014, compared with Rs 4.63 billion, a year ago.
Quarterly revenues totaled Rs 75.61 billion, an increase of 15.63% over Rs 65.39 billion in the same period a year ago.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 144.55, up Rs 4.8, or 3.43% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday at 9:51 a.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 146.60 and low of Rs 142.65. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 1,039,578.
