Lakshmi Vilas Bank, a private sector banking institution, first quarter profit rise 11.08% from a year ago. The bank reported a profit of Rs 281.55 million for the quarter ended Jun. 30, 2014, compared with Rs 253.45 million, a year ago. 
 
Quarterly income totaled at Rs 5.87 billion, an increase of 9.65% over Rs 5.35 billion in the same period a year ago.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.90, or 2.79%, to settle at Rs 106.80 at the BSE (Wednesday).
