Oil & gas stocks fall as govt defers gas price hike

Oil & Gas sector stocks slipped on Thursday after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has deferred decision on gas pricing citing the need for comprehensive discussions on the issue and the guidelines.

"It was decided that consultations would be held with all stakeholders and it was important to keep public interest in mind.  Therefore, the CCEA has deferred this issue for a period of three months," the government said.

BSE Oil & Gas Index went down 3.37% led by ONGC and HPCL.
