Navi Mumbai airport by Dec'18 as CIDCO pushes Rs 200 bn infra works

The City and Industrial development Corporation (CIDCO) of Maharashtra has embarked Rs 200 billion on infrastructure development for the nodes managed by it in Navi Mumbai and indicated that the first phase of the new international airport will be ready by December 2018.

CIDCO vice chairman and managing director, Sanjay Bhatia has sent out a communique to several stake holders listing out the various initiatives in on infrastructure front, including the settlement with almost all the villages to ensure a smooth land acquisition for the airport.

Bhatia indicated that the phase-1 of the Rs 145 billion airport will be ready by December 2018 when the flights will start to take off and land.

The other key projects that CIDCO has undertaken include the Rs 21 billion metro rail project, the Rs 14.12 billion Nerul-Belapur-Uran railway project, the Rs 14.5 billion Balganga Dam to ensure drinking water to the city, and several other works like coastal road and bridges.
