Sugar stocks rallied on Friday after the food minister Ram Vilas Paswan said the government will examine raising import tax on sugar to support local prices and help mills clear dues to cane growers.

Shares of Bajaj Hindusthan, Balrampur Chini and Bannari Amman Sugar led the rally in the sector stocks.
