Suven Life Sciences announced today the company has secured grant of one product patent from USA (8653071), corresponding to the New Chemical Entity (NCE) for the treatment of disorders associated with Neurodegenerative diseases and this Patent is valid through 2030.

The granted claims of the patents include the class of selective alpha-4-beta-2 compounds discovered by Suven and are being developed as therapeutic agents for major depressive disorder (MDD).

With this new patent, Suven has a total of eighteen (18) granted patents from USA. These granted patents are exclusive intellectual property of Suven and are achieved through the internal discovery research efforts. Products out of these inventions may be out-licensed at various phases of clinical development like at Phase-I or Phase-II.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.8, or 3.27%, to trade at Rs 88.40. The total volume of shares traded was 145,527 at the BSE (11.26 a.m., Wednesday).
