Seamec announced today that HAL Offshore has acquired 17.28 million equity shares of the company, representing 51% of the total paid up equity share capital from Coflexip Stena Offshore (Mauritius) pursuant to the terms of a share purchase agreement dated Apr. 22, 2014 entered into between HAL Offshore and Coflexip.

"Pursuant to the aforesaid acquisition, Coflexip shall no longer be a promoter or part of the promoter group of the company and HAL Offshore shall, from the date hereof, be the sole promoter of the company," it said.

Shares of the company declined Rs 1.6, or 1.46%, to settle at Rs 108.10. The total volume of shares traded was 9,967 at the BSE (Tuesday).
