Surya Roshni is planning to launch home appliances for the Indian market. The company will launch contemporary range of home appliances like water heater, dry irons, steam irons and mixer-grinders and target to achieve Rs 1 billion in span of two years.

The company's MD, Raju Bista, said" Surya product are used today in every city, every home, they are available at every electrical counter and enjoy excellent patronage from retailers and customers. The company is confident that the 1 lakh strong retailers network of Surya, across the country will promote appliances with the same enthusiasm as they have done for lighting and fans and make Surya a truly household electrical products company."   

Bista further added that,"technically superior features, attractive, designs, affordability and safely would be the key differentiators of Surya's range of home appliances. In his words, the company is confident that in no time this segment will also achieve the same level of success as it has in fans."     

Shares of the company declined Rs 7.3, or 7.22%, to trade at Rs 93.80. The total volume of shares traded was 56,334 at the BSE (1.31 p.m., Monday).
