GMR Infrastructure, the infrastructure holding company of GMR group, gained on Friday after it reported a sharp rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 78.55% to Rs 11,843.60 million from Rs 6,633.20 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose 14.20% to Rs 29,607.50 million, compared with Rs 25,925 million for the prior year period.
Shares of the company are trading at Rs 34.25, up Rs 0.85, or 2.54% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 12:10 p.m.
The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 35.15 and low of Rs 33.75. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 1,375,953.
In the earlier session, the shares lost 0.89%, or Rs 0.3, at Rs 33.40. Currently, the stock is trading down 10.1% from its 52-week high of Rs 38.10 and above 221.6% over the 52-week low of Rs 10.65.
