Anand Mahindra requests PMO to use Scorpio as Modi's official car

Anand Mahindra, chairman and managing director of Mahindra and Mahindra, has requested to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to consider Scorpio, a SUV manufactured by his company, as official car for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi has been using Scorpio since past many years. However, there are specific requirements for security of the Prime Minister. Mahindra has shown willingness to upgrade Scorpio to meet security requirements.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was using German BMW.

Shares of the company declined Rs 42.4, or 3.45%, to trade at Rs 1,187.90. The total volume of shares traded was 32,379 at the BSE (1.11 p.m., Tuesday).
