Motherson Sumi Systems reported a rise of 54.51% in its consolidated net profit of Rs 3.02 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2014, as compared to Rs 1.95 billion in the same period last year.
Total income has increased by 25.93% to Rs 84.07 billion for the quarter ended Mar. 31, 2014 from Rs 66.76 billion in the year ago period.
V C. Sehgal, chairman, Motherson Sumi Systems said, ''We have achieved the consolidated revenues of USD 5 billion as stated in our Vision 2015. We are working very hard to meet the other parameters which we have set for ourselves in our Vision 2015. We have improved our ROCE from 18% in 2012-13 to 26 % in FY 13-14. Thanks to our esteemed customers for their continous trust in our abilities. It's a testimony to the great efforts by the employees that despite one of thoughest year for the autmobile industry, we were able to outperform the market. We are looking ahead positivly and very much sure that we will keep on delivering the promised made to our all stakeholder.''
Shares of the company declined Rs 6.7, or 2.34%, to trade at Rs 279.90. The total volume of shares traded was 1,094,502 at the BSE (1.53 p.m., Thursday).
