Petronet LNG clarified on news item appearing in a financial daily titled "HPCL to buy stake in Petronet terminal."

"HPCL has shown interest in buying equity in a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) yet to be incorporated for construction, operation and owning of proposed LNG terminal at Gangavaram, Andhra Pradesh of Petronet LNG. Petronet is in discussion with HPCL in this regard. However, nothing has been finalized so far," the company said.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2.35, or 1.49%, to trade at Rs 159.75. The total volume of shares traded was 289,522 at the BSE (1.55 p.m., Thursday).
