Ambuja Cements said a small rise in standalone net profit for the quarter ended March 2014. During the quarter, the profit of the company rose 6.58% to Rs 5,200.10 million from Rs 4,879.00 million in the same quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter rose marginally 3.61% to Rs 26,493.20 million, compared with Rs 25,570 million for the prior year period.
Earnings per share for the quarter stood at Rs 3.36, registering 6.67% growth over previous year period.

Shares of the company gained Rs 4.1, or 1.91%, to trade at Rs 218.75. The total volume of shares traded was 206,734 at the BSE (3.55 p.m., Wednesday).
