HDFC Bank clarified on report published by newspaper titled 'JM Financial stock soars on buzz of merger with HDFC Bank'.

"The news/rumor appearing in a financial daily is untrue and that there are no such negotiations taking place with the bank in this regard," the bank said.

Shares of the bank gained Rs 7.9, or 1.09%, to settle at Rs 734.25. The total volume of shares traded was 237,886 at the BSE (Wednesday).
