Sesa Sterlite and Kalyani Steels fell on Tuesday after sharp gain in previous day. Supreme Court has lifted ban on iron ore in the state of Goa with riders, as per media reports. Goa government can decide on the manner in which lease can be granted.
But iron ore mining should not exceed 20 mmtpa, the apex court said. Goa government should consider all leases expired post 2007, the court said.
10% of iron ore auction proceeds should go to special fund. Mining in the area with expired lease is illegal, the court said.
Shares of Kalyani Steels dropped the most with fall of 2.92% and Sesa Sterlite 2.85%.
