Wipro said that administrative committee of the company's board of directors resolved to issue and allot 2,20,692 equity shares of Rs 2 each.
This is pursuant to exercise of the stock options by the eligible employees under restricted stock unit plan 2005 and restricted stock unit plan 2007.
The stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till Apr. 17, 2014, rising 2.92% compared with the Sensex's 3.76% rise. It underperformed the market in past one quarter, declining 19.65% as against 7.43% rise in the Sensex.
