Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have reduced shareholding in Tata Steel, the leading private steel maker. FIIs shareholding reduced to 15.47% at the end of March 2014 quarter from 16.10% as on Dec. 31, 2013.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors' (DIIs) shareholding went up to 25.39% at the end of March 2014 quarter from 25.35% as on Dec. 31, 2013.
Under DIIs, insurance companies held maximum stake of 21.81%, followed by mutual funds / UTI (3.09% stake), financial institutions / banks (0.48% stake) and central government / state government (s) (0.01% stake).
Meanwhile, promoter and promoter group shareholding was unchanged at 31.35% at the end of March 2014 quarter.
Shares of the company gained Rs 3.3, or 0.79%, to settle at Rs 420.10. The total volume of shares traded was 904,126 at the BSE (Friday).
