Reliance Power (RPower) announced that boiler light up has been achieved in respect of the Fourth 660MW unit of the 3,960 MW (6X660 MW) Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP).
This is a critical milestone of the boiler commissioning activities for the unit.
The first 660 MW unit of the Sasan UMPP was commissioned in March 2013 and the second unit in Jan 2014. The third unit was synchronized to the grid in March 2014, reached full load and is operational.
First three 660 MW units of the project comprising 50% of total capacity are already operating, 4th unit boiler lighted up and the balance two units are in advanced stages of construction.
Shares of the company gained Rs 1.7, or 2.37%, to trade at Rs 73.35. The total volume of shares traded was 757,766 at the BSE (1.20 p.m., Wednesday).
