Ashok Leyland, the second largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in India, has reported a fall of 27% in sales in March 2014 to 10,286 units as against 14,019 units sold in the same period of last year.
The company experienced a fall of 20% in its M&HCV products segment to 7,723 units in March.
While the company's large commercial vehicle witnessed a drop of 41% to 2,563 units in March.
Shares of the company gained Rs 0.5, or 2.21%, to trade at Rs 23.15. The total volume of shares traded was 1,206,714 at the BSE (11.45 a.m., Wednesday).
