Avantha Group Company, Crompton Greaves (CG) has received an order to provide two 40 MVA power transformers and one 110 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) of 7 bays, to Ukrainian electricity utility Odessa Oblenergo for its Marazlievskaya substation. The company supplies electricity to the city of Odessa in Ukraine and other surrounding areas. The order is valued at Euro2 million and installation and commissioning of the equipment is expected to be completed by end-2014.
CG will undertake the supervision of erection and commissioning of the transformers and switchgear.
CG was selected as the ideal partner for this project on account of its technical acumen to fully understand and comply with Odessa Oblenergo's specific requirements for the substation, well ahead in the process.
The equipment supplied will optimise efficiency, reliability and safety at the substation. This win will help CG gain a foothold in the rapidly growing Eastern European market.

Shares of the company gained Rs 7.05, or 4.85%, to trade at Rs 152.40. The total volume of shares traded was 1,309,850 at the BSE (3.22 p.m., Monday).
