Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has bagged an EPC contract worth Rs 79 billion for setting up a power project involving three coal-fired supercritical thermal units of 660 MW each.
The EPC order is for setting up NTPC's 1,980 MW North Karanpura super thermal power project (STPP) in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand State.
''With this contract, BHEL has now bagged orders for supply and installation of 32 boilers and 27 turbines of 660 MW, 700 MW and 800 MW ratings," the company said.
Shares of the company declined Rs 2.7, or 1.61%, to trade at Rs 164.50. The total volume of shares traded was 114,527,360 at the BSE (11.50 a.m., Monday).
