Tata Motors, India's largest automobile company, reported a drop of 35.56% in total vehicle sales to 39,951 units in February 2014. The company has sold 61,998 vehicles in the same month last year.

Domestic sales of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for February 2014 were 35,315 units. Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal were 515,511 units.

The company's sales of commercial vehicles in February 2014 in the domestic market were 23,990 units, LCV sales were 14,881 units, while M&HCV sales stood at 9,109 units.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 344,992 units. Cumulative LCV sales were 247,179 nos., while M&HCV sales stood at 97,813 units.

Sales of passenger vehicles for February 2014 were at 11,325 units. Sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range in February 2014 were 9,026 units. The Sumo/ Safari/ Aria/ Venture range sales were 2,299 units.

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 125,815 units. Cumulative sales of the Nano/ Indica/ Indigo range were at 97,426 units. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/ Aria/ Venture range were 28,389 units.

The company's sales from exports were 4,636 units, in February 2014. Cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal were 44,704 units.

Shares of the company gained Rs 16.6, or 4.15%, to settle at Rs 417.05. The total volume of shares traded was 1,265,906 at the BSE (Friday).
