IL&FS Transportation Networks, the transportation infrastructure company, announced that the company in joint venture with Elsamex SA, wholly owned subsidiary of the company in Spain has been awarded a contract by Roads Department Ministry of Transport and Communications, Republic of Botswana under output and performance based road contracts system (OPRC) for a period of 10 years effective Feb. 19, 2014.

The total length of the roads to be maintained for both the contracts is 267.4 km for a total value of USD 216.7 million (approx. Rs 13.49 billion), which are being finance by the World Bank.

Shares of the company gained Rs 4.7, or 4.51%, to trade at Rs 108.90. The total volume of shares traded was 18,215 at the BSE (1.12 p.m., Friday).
