Suven gains after securing product patents in New Zealand

Suven Life Sciences shares gained on Friday after it announced the grant of two product patents from New Zealand (600536 & 601242) corresponding to the New Chemical Entities (NCEs) for the treatment of disorders associated with Neurodegenerative diseases and these Patents are valid through 2029 and 2030 respectively.

The granted claims of the patents include the class of selective 5-HT compounds discovered by Suven and are being developed as therapeutic agents and are useful in the treatment of cognitive impairment associated with neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease, Attention deficient hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Huntington's disease, Parkinson and Schizophrenia.

Shares of the company are trading at Rs 72.80, up Rs 1.45, or 2.03% at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday at 10:42 a.m.

The scrip has touched an intra-day high of Rs 73.50 and low of Rs 71.15. The total volume of shares traded at the BSE is 118,237.

In the earlier session, the shares lost 1.45%, or Rs 1.05, at Rs 71.35.

Currently, the stock is trading down 12.71% from its 52-week high of Rs 83.40 and above 230.91% over the 52-week low of Rs 22.
