Idea Cellular, one of the leading telecom operators and a part of the Aditya Birla group, today reported a sharp rise of 2.05 times in consolidated net profit for the third-quarter of fiscal 2014.
It earned a profit of Rs 4.68 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 31, 2013, compared with Rs 2.29 billion, a year ago.
Quarterly revenues totaled Rs 66.13 billion, an increase of 18.54% over Rs 55.79 billion in the same period a year ago.
Shares of the company declined Rs 5.75, or 3.77%, to settle at Rs 146.75. The total volume of shares traded was 403,878 at the BSE (Monday).
