US immigration bill may trigger brain drain from India: Sanjoy Sen

U.S. Senate approved immigration bill, which is seen by proposing higher fees and wages for temporary U.S. workers.

Sanjoy Sen, senior director, Deloitte in India, said, "US Senate has passed the immigration bill which in a way spells bad news for India. And not only because of its impact on IT industry and firms such as Infosys, Wipro and TCS. But also because it may trigger brain drain from India."

He further said, "The critical need for Indian IT/ ITES companies is to now move up their customers' value chains, which in turn is enabled by moving a greater proportion of staff from offshore to onshore delivery modes. The US immigration bill in its current form passed by the Senate, will clearly impact their agility to do so."
