Tech Mahindra, a specialist provider of solutions and services to the telecommunications industry, today announced the launch of its new branch in Istanbul. The branch will serve as a hub for Turkey and Central Asia.

Tech Mahindra aims to bank on the young and cosmopolitan population of Turkey and provide specialized services to its customer from this near shore centre. The country is at a very vantage position because of its geographical position as a hub between Europe and Middle East. Tech Mahindra aims to develop the Turkey as the near-shore centre for projects.

Tech Mahindra recently won a billing solution implementation contract for a large Telco.

''Turkey is on a growth trajectory and we at tech Mahindra are very keen to be part of this journey. We look forward to the support from local Government as we grow our footprint in the region. As a part of our journey in Turkey, we aim to recruit local resources and train them to support Tech Mahindra services over the years to come'' said Girish Bhat, vice president sales, Tech Mahindra.

Shares of the company gained Rs 2, or 0.2%, to trade at Rs 979.90. The total volume of shares traded was 59,609 at the BSE (2.11 p.m., Thursday).
