European stocks advance in early trade

European stocks gained in early trade on Wednesday before the U.S. House of Representatives votes to suspend the country's borrowing limit. U.S. index futures were also little changed, while Asian shares fell.

UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 rose 12.98 points or 0.27% to trade at 6,195.10. French benchmark index CAC 40 advanced 7.01 points or 0.24% to trade at 3,749.85. Germany's benchmark index DAX increased 8.76 points or 0.09% to trade at 7,704.98.

US stock-index futures trading mixed Dow Jones index futures were down 11 points to 13,685, while S&P 500 index futures were down 2.9 points to 1,486. The Nasdaq composite index futures rose 0.25 points to 2,751.25 (03.01 ET).
