Suzlon Group-subsidiary REpower Systems SE and WSB Neue Energien GmbH signed a contract for the delivery and construction of 22 REpower MM92 wind turbines.

The turbines, each with a rated power of 2.05 megawatts (MW), are intended for the Taczalin project near Legnica in the Polish province of Lower Silesia. Construction and commissioning of the wind farm, which will have a total power output of 45.1 MW, are scheduled for completion in August 2013.

After signing the contract, Jens Müller Nielsen, managing director of REpower Systems Polska SP.z.o.o., which serves the Polish market, said, ``REpower has been operating on the Polish market since 2010 and since then has sold wind farms with a power output totalling more than 200 MW. The Taczalin project is our biggest ever in Poland.``

In August 2011, Dresden-based WSB commissioned a wind farm near Opole, its first in Poland. Now, 15 REpower MM 92 turbines supply around 41,000 households with eco-friendly electricity.

REpower has already set up two service support points in Poland for the maintenance of its turbines installations there.

Shares of the company gained Rs 0.28, or 1.7%, to trade at Rs 16.79. The total volume of shares traded was 310,322 at the BSE (9.45 a.m., Friday).
