The Sensex is trading in the green amid volatility. Both Sensex and Nifty were trading above 2-month high. At 14.55., the Sensex was trading up 14.11 points or 0.08% at 17,533.37 with 17 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 3.90 points or 0.07% at 5,249.80 with 28 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 12.21 points or 0.07% at 17,531.47, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 13.35 points or 0.25%, at 5,232.55.
Sensex Movers
Bharti Airtel contributed rise of 19.25 points in the Sensex. It was followed by State Bank of India (10.3 points), HDFC Bank (8.51 points), Hero Honda Motors (4.16 points) and Tata Power Company (3.47 points).
However, Housing Development Finance Corporation contributed fall of 14.22 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Infosys Technologies (12.76 points), ICICI Bank (11.42 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (3.7 points) and Tata Consultancy Services (3.01 points).

Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (3.60%), Reliance Communications (1.98%), Hero Honda Motors (1.61%), State Bank Of India (1.31%), Tata Power Company (1.14%), and Jaiprakash Associates (1.08%).
On the other hand, Housing Development Finance Corporation (1.51%), D L F (1.32%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.12%), I C I C I Bank (0.81%), Infosys Technologies (0.73%), and Wipro (0.54%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Midcap index was at 6758.41 down by 0.94 points or by 0.01%. The major losers were Aban Offshore (0.85%), Allahabad Bank (0.59%), A I A Engineering (0.47%), Alfa-Laval (India) (0.37%) and Alstom Projects India (0.2%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 4,201.72, up by 53.86 points or by 1.30%. The major gainers were Blue Star (1.73%), Videocon Industries (1.14%), Rajesh Exports (0.96%) and Titan Industries (0.9%).
The Auto index was at 7,634.87, up by 40.77 points or by 0.54%. The major gainers were Apollo Tyres (6.51%), Hero Honda Motors (1.61%), Amtek Auto (1.49%), Bajaj Auto (1.48%) and Ashok Leyland (1.31%).
The Metal index was at 17,909.84, up by 71.65 points or by 0.40%. The major gainers were Sesa Goa (3.47%), Jindal Saw (1.15%), NMDC (0.84%), Gujarat N R E Coke (0.56%) and National Aluminium Company (0.36%).
On the other hand, the Realty index was at 3,337.33, down by 35.64 points or by 1.06%. The major losers were Indiabulls Real Estate (3.03%), Anant Raj Industries (1.84%), D L F (1.32%), Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.14%) and Peninsula Land (0.4%).

Market breadth was negative with 1,430 advances against 1,411 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Jubilant FoodWorks topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 2,783.83 million. It was followed by Amtek Auto (Rs. 1,926.19 million), ARSS Infrastructure Projects (Rs. 1,636.32 million) and Sterlite Industries (India) (Rs. 1,269.46 million).
The volume chart was led by Cals Refineries with trades of over 32.58 million shares. It was followed by S Kumars Nationwide (13.33 million), Amtek Auto (10.69 million) and Texmo Pipes and Products (8.88 million).
