Barclays opens branch in Hyderabad

Barclays Global Retail Banking (GRB) today opened its first branch in Hyderabad, the capital city and commercial hub of Andhra Pradesh.

With the new branch launch, Barclays now has seven branches across the country located in Mumbai, New Delhi, Junagadh (near Rajkot), Kanchipuram (near Chennai), Nelamangala (near Bengaluru) and Ahmednagar in Maharashtra.

Speaking on the occasion, Ram Gopal, Interim Managing Director - India, Barclays Global Retail Bank, said, ``The opening of our branch in Hyderabad marks a significant milestone in the history of Barclays in India and further reinforces our commitment to the country. We are sure that our global expertise, world class product offerings and superior services, will meet the needs of discerning corporate and retail Hyderabad customers. Barclays currently has very attractive offerings for its customers, across categories. This includes a special, Barclays ``term deposit`` promotion, which offers retail customers 6% per annum interest on their term deposits for a 99 days tenor.

Customers in Hyderabad will also be able to avail of Barclays Premier, one of the best Premier services offering in the country. Barclays will also offer its loan portfolio including its first-of-a-kind ``drop down feature`` which rewards customers who pay their EMIs on time to benefit from a lower interest rate. Barclays will also soon launch its mortgage products in Hyderabad.
