Aurobindo Pharma gets USFDA nod for epilepsy drug

Drug maker, Aurobindo Pharma has received the final approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) to market Lamotrigine tablets on prescription basis.

The said drug would be available in the tablet form in the strengths of 5 mg and 25 mg.

Lamotrigine is an anticonvulsant drug used in the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder.

Shares of the company gained Rs 14.55, or 1.83%, to settle at Rs 808.30. The total volume of shares traded was 22,782 at the BSE (Thursday).
