Cipla has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market for Efavirenz Capsules in strength of 200 mg.
Efavirenz (brand names Sustiva and Stocrin) is a non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) and is used as part of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) for the treatment of a human immunodeficiency virus.
Cipla has a product range comprising antibiotics, anti-bacterials, anti-asthmatics, anthelmintics, anti-ulcerants, oncology, corticosteroids, nutritional supplements and cardiovascular drugs.
Shares of the company gained Rs 3.2, or 1.18%, to trade at Rs 275.50. The total volume of shares traded was 100,435 at the BSE (2.48 p.m., Wednesday).
